Below are 10 random questions about myself. I think it helps to give a little bit more insight in to who I am as a person. 1. If you had to describe yourself in 5 words, what would they be?
5 words to describe me would be: Loyal Passionate Honest Vivacious Empathetic 2. If you weren't working in the job you have now, what would you do? I work in PR right now, but I think I would probably be a dance teacher or an actress. 3. What is on your bucket list? The biggest thing on my bucket list is to go visit Egypt and Greece. For some reason, I have something pulling me there, but I am not sure when I would be able to go. There are other things on my bucket list like get married, live in England, and travel the world. 4. If you could change something in the world, what would it be? I would love to change people's acceptance of others. I think this has been the issue for many wars, fighting religions, fighting cultures, racisim, sexism and the list goes on. I think if we all learned to accept others then there would be more peace on this Earth. Learning about someone's culture or religion doesn't mean you have to agree with it, but just respect it. I just wish we could understand each other better. I would also like to change the way people look at the climate and the environment. I don't think people pay enough attention to how much we are destroying the world we live in. If people could just open their eyes a little bit more, I think they would be shocked to learn how much we have already destroyed. 5. What makes you wildly happy? This was a tough one for me because a lot of things make me happy. I think a great meal makes me wildly happy. Being around my family and friends makes me wildly happy. Traveling the world makes me wildly happy. I believe we chose whether or not we are happy and I have chosen to surround myself with people and things that make me happy on a daily basis. 6. What are your top 5 favorite books of all time? If there is one thing to know about me, it is that I am the BIGGEST book worm. My friend Farrah told me, one of the first sentences I ever said to her were, "I love to read. I read all the time." This was hard to answer, but my top 5 are: A Man Called Ove Niagra Falls All Over Again All The Light We Cannot See Harry Potter Series The Queen's Lover 7. If you were an animal, what would you be? I think I would be a dolphin or an elephant. 8. If you could travel back in time, what timeframe would you visit and why? There are two. The first is in the 50's so I could be surrounded by all the amazing stars like Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra. I think even though it was a tough time for women, there were so many inspirational people who I would have loved to meet. The second time frame would be in the early to late 1700's in France because it was such a historical moment for the entire world with the U.S. breaking free. I also would like to have met Marie Antionette because I am truly OBSESSED with her. 9. What is the most valuable life lesson you've ever learned? To live in the moment. It is so cliche, but it is true. Things will fly right by you and big trips or events will be over in a second if you don't take some time to make a mental note. 10. If you could get drinks with anyone, who would it be? I would love to get drinks with Michelle Obama. I think she is someone who is an inspiration and I would love to hear her stories about her life. I was a very lucky teen because I never had to worry about acne. Of course, I would have the breakout here and there, but overall, I didn't have problems with it. This, I believe, is because I swam my entire life. The clorine probably killed off any and all bacteria that would have been on my face. This also made my skin extremely dry, but I will take dry skin over acne any day. Well the day came, when I was no longer swimming. Which changed my skin dramatically. I was starting to have more and more breakouts which I had no knowledge of how to fix. So I began to wash my face. I didn't even know what products to use or what did what. As I have gotten older, I have taken an interest in learning about makeup and skin products. I want to know what I am using or ingredients in a product before I spend money on it. Taking care of my skin was a resolution I had last year and below I have included some products I will be continuing to use in to 2017. Thanks to my beautiful friend Erin, she got me hooked (which has now gotten my whole family hooked) on to Lush products. If you don't know about Lush, well you need to go Google them right now. They are beautiful products that are all organic. So much so that you can eat everything in the store! (not sure you really want to.) My first must have item is the Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub. This stuff is NO joke! You will feel every single layer of your face coming off when you exfoliate with this. I try to only use this once every other week since it is so intense. Your skin will be thanking you after! Another life changing Lush product is the Rose Shower Gel. This is a basic shower gel except for the scent. It is a light rose smell that you get wiffs of throughout the day without being too overpowering. Whenever I use this, I always feel like I am having a day at the spa. I have been a believer and lover of GlamGlow since the first time I used one of the travel masks. I have their exfoliator and deep clean masks which are both must haves. But I got the daily facial cleanser in a package when I bought something else from them. I am not sure how much this mask actually does to change my skin, but HOLY MOLY! My skin feels SO soft after. It is seriously unbelievable. If I use the Lush Ocean Salt scrub and then use the cleanser after. I feel like I have been at a luxury spa all day. Now I get picked on all the time for this one, but I use anti-wrinkle creams at night. I read a study that women who live in urban areas are more likely to wrinkling at a younger age than those who don't. This of course scared me beyond belief. Even if this doesn't actually stop wrinkles, I wake up with skin that is hydrated and looks radiant. Let me know your favorite beauty products of 2016 so I can try them in 2017!! I love a great pattern, but sometimes the basics can make an outfit look chic and polished. This dress is from TopShop and is able to be dressed up or down depending on where I am going. It is stretchy enough for when I eat a large meal, but also keeps its form. The "coat" isn't technically a coat since it is extremely lightweight. Even though it isn't thick, I love it for layering and gives outfits an added bonus.
The choker trend is one that I am still not totally sure about. I didn't want to wear a statement necklace with this outfit so I thought a choker would work better. I am going to try and incorporate chokers more into my outfits from here on out because I thought it pulled together this look. Remember, no matter what trend is in style, wear it only if you enjoy it. Don't just wear something because every other person is wearing it. Only get it if you truly love it and will wear it. This is my fall go to outfit! It is so simple, but has the perfect amount of details without being too over the top. This jacket is one of my favorite finds at Forever21 ever! It was $35 and I get compliments on it every time I wear it!
If you know me, you know how obsessed I was with Laguna Beach in middle school. I even got my hair cut just like Kristin Cavallari! So when she started designing shoes for Chinese Laundry, it became a serious obsession. I would just stare at them on the site. Then one day, these fring booties were on Nordstrom Rack. Immediately I bought them! And there's not a day that goes by where I don't tell myself how smart of a purchase they were! A few weeks ago, I went with one of my closest friends Allie Bailey, to Disneyland. We both hadn't been since we were little and thought it would be a fun adventure to go on. Along the way, we learned how to do Disneyland the right way! TIP #1: Get There Early! We would get to the park right when it opened, which left the entrance lines to be next to nobody. After we got into the park, we would go straight to a ride we knew would get busy early and last the whole day. For example, on our first day, we went straight to Space Mountain and got a fast pass. After getting a fast pass, we would look for rides that would get more packed, but had a short line. For us, that happened to be Pirates Of The Carribbean and Haunted Mansion were surprisingly not busy that early. TIP #2: Bring Your Own Snacks They now let you bring in food and drinks as long as it isn't glass. We were able to bring in sandwiches and chips which made the day a little less expensive. It also helped when we have to wait in line to have something to munch on. TIP #3: Go To The Parade! There is usually a parade around 3 or 4 pm where the characters dance to classic Disney numbers! This is always just fun to watch and to see the excitment on the children's faces was very sweet to witness. Right after the parades is also a good time to get on rides that might have been packed with children earlier in the day. By around 4pm, most of the families with young children will leave, which gives some room in the park. TIP #4: Go During A Weekday We noticed right away that our first day, which was a Thursday, was the least crowded versus the other two days we were there. We had a feeling this would be the case which is why we chose to do Disneyland on Thursday instead of the weekend. TIP #5: HAVE FUN!
It can be stressful when it gets hot and you're hungry and you're waiting in line for hours. Just remember that this is the happiest place on Earth and no matter what you are there to create lasting memories. Suede has been my fall kryptonite. It is something I have been buying nonstop. Well, it's actually fauz suede, but it is still close! This cardigan is probably my favorite piece I have this season! It was also crazy affordable.
I love Halloween time! Watching Nightmare Before Christmas, drinking hot cidar and going to pumpkin patches are my favorite things to do! After picking out the perfect pumpkin, then I usually paint them into characters or patterns. This year's pumpkin patch I visted was the G&M Farms in Livermore!
I love that there has been a winter this year. It means I finally get to wear clothes that have been sitting in the back on my closet. These boots are one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe because they can be worn with so many different types of outfits. This hat is also one of my favorites, but least worn pieces because it is felt so I can only wear it during the winter months. When I can wear it, trust me, I do.
Have a fabulous weekend! A few months ago, my friend Brit asked if I would be willing to do the Color Run with her. Now if you know me, you know I cannot run and I normally don't enjoy it. But I decided to suck it up and do it. How hard could a 5k be? It's only 3 miles. The last time I tried to run, I pulled a muscle in my ankle. Yes, I know, extremely embarrassing. This time around, I wanted to really give this running thing a legit shot. So I download the app called Couch to 5K. This app helps you get from being a lazy couch bum to running an entire 5k. It starts off with walking then running intervals which slowly turns into just running. As the weeks went on, I started to really enjoy running. I actually looked forward to my daily running workouts. Weird! Then the day we had been waiting for arrived. I woke up that morning to a complete downpour. I mean intense rain! Brit and I decided to tough it out and just go to the run anyways. We started driving towards San Francisco. As we made our way, the rain stopped and instead it was completely sunning. We were so shocked, but also excited. We got our shirts and other fun goodies like tattoos. Then we lined up for this race. I was a little bit nervous about running three whole miles, but knew this was going to be an experience either way! Who would have thought that I would enjoy running and having color thrown at you is ridiculously fun! I had such a blast throughout the entire run! We ran through At&t park, down the Piers and then back through AT&T park. It turned out to be such a beautiful day.
You also get a medal for completing the race! Let's be real, everyone likes getting a medal! Overall, I would HIGHLY reccomend doing this! It is a very easy run, you can dress up and I guarantee you will be non-stop laughing the whole time! |
